Pinterest Video Won’t Download: What Each Message Means and How to Fix It

When a download fails, Snapzia shows one of three messages, or the preview appears but the file does not save. Each case has a different cause, so the quickest fix is to find your situation below.

This guide only covers what to do when something goes wrong. For the normal steps, see how to download Pinterest videos.

“Please paste a valid Pinterest link (pinterest.com or pin.it).”

This message means that what you pasted is not a Pinterest link Snapzia can read. The usual reasons:

• The link is incomplete or was cut off when you copied it.
• The box contains extra text or spaces around the link.
• The link is not from pinterest.com or pin.it.
• You pasted a link to something other than a Pin, such as a profile or a search page.

Open the video Pin in Pinterest, tap Share, choose Copy link and paste it again, whole. A pin.it short link works exactly as copied.

“We couldn't get media from this link. Check that the pin is public and try again in a few minutes.”

Snapzia reached the link but found no media it can save. Check these causes in order:

1. The Pin is private, deleted or restricted. Open the link in a private (incognito) window without being signed in. If Pinterest asks you to log in or says the page does not exist, Snapzia cannot reach it either.
2. The link is not a single video Pin. Boards, Story Pins, carousels and GIFs have their own tools: board downloader, Story Pin downloader, carousel downloader and GIF downloader.
3. A temporary problem. Snapzia relies on Pinterest’s public data, and that can fail for a short time. Wait a few minutes and try again, as the message says.
4. A video Snapzia cannot prepare. In rare cases a Pin has a video that cannot be turned into a file. If a fresh public link fails again after several minutes, this is the likely cause, and nothing on your side will change it.

“Too many requests. Please wait a moment and try again.”

To keep the site fast for everyone, each connection can send only a limited number of links per minute. Wait a minute and try again. Videos that are prepared on our server (see the next section) have a stricter limit, so several of them in a row may need a longer pause.

The preview appears, but the video does not save

Try these in order:

1. Tap Download link [2]. It opens the video file directly. On a phone, save it with the ⋮ button of the player. On a computer, right-click the video and choose Save video as.
2. Open Snapzia in a regular browser such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. Browsers built into other apps often block downloads. The Android guide explains this in detail.
3. If the button says Download video (MP4), the video is prepared on our server first, so the download can start a few seconds after you tap. Wait before tapping again.
4. Very large videos, over about 300 MB, cannot go through the main button. Use Download link [2] for those.

Snapzia shows an image instead of a video

The result page says image when the link you pasted belongs to an image Pin, or to a different Pin than the video you watched. A video Pin shows a play button and a duration in Pinterest. Open your link in Pinterest to compare, then copy the link again from the video Pin. When a Pin has a video that Snapzia cannot prepare, you get the second message above, not an image.
