How to Download Pinterest Videos on Android and Find Them in Your Gallery

On Android you can save a Pinterest video using only your browser: copy the Pin link, paste it into Snapzia and tap Download video. You do not need an app or an account.

Most of the confusion comes afterwards: where did the video go? This guide covers the steps, then shows where to find the file in your Gallery and in your Downloads folder.

The steps on Android, in short

1. In the Pinterest app, tap Share and choose Copy link.
2. Open Snapzia in your browser, paste the link and tap Download.
3. Tap the red Download video button. The download starts right away and Chrome shows a Downloading file… message.

Where is the downloaded video?

The video is saved in the Download folder of your phone's internal storage, with a name like pinterest-video-1234567890.mp4. You can find it in two places:

• In your Gallery app, usually in an album called Download. The album name can differ depending on the phone and the Gallery app.
• In your Files app (Files by Google, My Files, File Manager…), inside the Download folder.

Good to know: the Gallery may show the date and time you downloaded the video, not the date it was posted on Pinterest.

Does Android ask for permission?

In our test with Chrome on an Android phone, no permission request appeared and the video showed up in the Gallery. Some phones, browsers or older Android versions may ask for access to files or media. If that happens, allow it only so the file can be saved. If you refused it earlier, you can change it in your phone's app settings for that browser.

The video is not in my Gallery

Check these things in order:

1. Open the Download album in the Gallery, or the Download folder in your Files app. On many phones, downloads are shown in their own album and not in the main photo list.
2. Close the Gallery app and open it again.
3. Pull down the notification bar and make sure the download has finished.
4. If it still does not appear, use the Files app to move the video to the Movies or DCIM folder.

The video opened in a tab instead of downloading

Some in-app browsers, the ones that open inside other apps, do not handle downloads well. Open Snapzia in Chrome or another regular browser and try again. You can also tap Download link [2], which opens the video file directly, and then use the ⋮ button of the video player to download it.
